COMECA Group, 150 million turnover, 1,250 people – 20 industrial sites in France and 8 subsidiaries outside France (United Kingdom, Spain, Morocco, Algeria, Indonesia, Malaysia, United Arab Emirates, Australia), is a specialist in energy distribution, management and associated services. We are a major player in the industry, energy, infrastructure, building and transport markets.

We are a part of the ambitious HPC Project (the development of a nuclear plant based at Hinkley Point, UK) including about the electrical installation. We are looking for a Site Supervisor to coordinate and manage our site based in UK, Somerset.

The Role

Primary Purpose of the role: to supervise the electrical sub-contractor(s) and be responsible for
the electrical installation up to and including commissioning with regard to progress, programme
and cost

Main Responsibilities

  • Effective overall management of all electrical installation activities and commissioning to
    ensure completion, with minimal snags, by the agreed time scales to the current regulations
    / standards and to the satisfaction of the client
  • Ensure site rules are observed by COMECA employees and its sub-contractors
  • Liaise with the Project Manager on the specific requirements of the contract
  • To be pro-active in ensuring that the work being carried out is to the COMECA standard
  • Understand and exceed the customer’s needs by logging and demonstrating a reducing list
    of issues
  • To assist the Company with Process / Quality Improvements; to continuously improve
    installation / site activities and methodologies
  • To ensure the completion of electrical installation within, or to an improved, budget whilst
    highlighting and managing potential day-works or prolongation
  • Develop and maintain supplier relationships both internally and externally which support
    business growth objectives
  • To produce, issue and close out snagging lists and ensure completion by the electrical sub-
    contractor in a timely manner, i.e. before pre-commissioning concludes
  • To continually maintain the check sheets to ensure a complete installation to the quality
    expected
  • To liaise directly with the nominated Lead Controls Design Engineer, the Client and any Third
    Party supplier for technical advice
  • Comply with Company Policy as defined in the Staff Handbook and the Company Health &
    Safety Manual
  • Document Management
  • Maintain relationships with key industry organisations
  • Preparation of site work packs including all relevant H&S information.
  • Preparation and delivery of Risk assessments and Method Statements
  • Undertake all training required to develop within the role
  • You may be required to undertake informal ‘on-the-job’ training as requested
  • You may be asked to carry out other duties not listed here but considered to be within your
    capability / capacity
  • Overnight stays as required

 

What We Are Looking For
To be successful in this highly business critical role you will have a proven track record of site
supervision / site management (ideally) within an substation / electrical equipment environment.

Essential Requirements

  • Experience with single phase and three phase systems
  • NVQ Level 3 Electrical Qualification
  • 18th Edition IEE Wiring regulations
  • Valid ECS Card
  • C&G 2391/2 or equivalent Testing and inspection
  • Proficient with MS Office (Excel, Word etc)
  • Strong communication skills
  • Competent with product performance reporting tools
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Proven organisational and planning ability
  • Teamwork is essential
  • Minimum 1 to 2 years experience in a similar site supervisor/ project management role
  • An ability to work with / manage sub-contractors
  • UK Driving Licence

  • CDM Knowledge
  • IOSH Qualified
